St Paul’s depends on the skill and dedication of our great volunteers. They help with visitors and behind the scenes, in teams or independently. We welcome volunteers from any age group, background, of all faiths and none, and offer a wide range of opportunities in and around the church site.
Around sixty volunteers are responsible for keeping St Paul’s running – from welcoming visitors to helping garden. We are always happy to hear from those who may like to volunteer at St Paul’s, and have a range of different roles to suit your interests and availability.

Sunday Welcomers and Refreshments
Help create a welcoming and inspiring environment greeting St Paul’s congregation and visitors when they arrive, ensuring the smooth running of the service, or helping serve tea and coffee after the service.
Liturgical Volunteers
Join volunteer teams who read scripture at services, lead the prayers or serve at the Altar.
PCC Members and Churchwardens
Volunteer to be a member of the PCC or a Churchwarden
Part of the governance of St Paul's, the Parochial Church Council (PCC) is the executive committee and trustees of the church and together they are responsible for the spiritual and practical wellbeing of the church, the church members, and the church buildings.
Churchwardens are the most senior laypeople of the parish and congregation. They sit on the PCC and they, with the parish priest, are generally responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the parish.
We hold annual elections for Churchwardens and PCC members, usually in April at the Annual Parish Meeting. If you are interested in standing for election and would like further information, please contact
